Brohard Park’s 67 acres include several beach access points that are named and used for various needs and activities. Below is a list of each location and their amenities.

Venice Fishing Pier at South Harbor Drive: If you enjoy fishing, there’s a 740 foot public fishing pier with restrooms, a snack bar and bait shop with a full service restaurant at the foot of the pier. Nearby, there’s a well known wetland area for great bird watching. The nearly 19 acres of beach has no lifeguards on duty.

Service Club Park at South Harbor Drive: Seven Acres with plenty to do. Noted for its fossil finds, this is where you’ll discover a good hunting ground for shark teeth. The raised boardwalk with shaded pavilions traverse palmetto dunes to a quiet sandy shore featuring volleyball courts, picnic tables, grills, bike rack, playground, restrooms and parking. With the Venice fishing pier and restaurant nearby, it’s a great place to relax and rejuvenate. Dogs are allowed, but they must be leashed or under voice control.

Chauncy Howard Park at the 800 block of Esplanade North: Across from Venice airport, you can bask in the sun and occasionally glimpse a small plane taking flight. Wheelchair friendly, this park features boardwalks with ramps to a quiet beach. There are no lifeguards but, there’s plenty of free parking and restrooms.

BROHARD PAW PARK on Harbor Drive S: Across from Venice’s airport, this is where you and your “best friend” can play in the gulf and socialize with other dogs. Featuring doggie drinking fountains, showers on decks for “dogs only”, fire hydrants and leash posts, dog lovers have declared this park… and beach… to be the best doggie park in the state! Shaded by towering oaks, small dogs will enjoy their fenced in arena while the big boys can frolic in the larger pen. Double gates access both parks and the beach. A paved walkway leads directly to the beach where your best friend will delight in this 300’ section of open space. Note: In summer months, you might be carrying your furry friend to the water’s edge as the sand can be hot under paw. Doggie waste bags and receptacles are provided and strategically placed around the park. Human comforts include drinking fountains, picnic tables and restrooms. Parking is very limited although off road parking is across the street.

South Brohard Beach at Harbor Drive: Located on 22 acres, this is a great beach to relax and catch up on your reading. There’s plenty of free parking, picnic tables, showers and restrooms. Usually ignored and less frequented by beach goers, Scuba people will fully appreciate this location.
